1. INTRODUCTION
------------------------------------------

Morwm is an exotic worm game where your goal is to capture score objects and trap objects. You move the player by using the mouse. Move the mouse to the direction you want to go and as fast - or as slow - as you want to move. There is no mouse cursor shown in the game. The name Morwm comes from a weird idea of combining two words: Mouse and Worm. There are a few different object classes in the game which are described more clearly in the game itself. All of them can be captured by circling them by the worm. Some objects will be translated with the worm after they are circled for later use - others will increase your score or health and just disappear.

2. HOW TO PLAY
------------------------------------------

The game has an in-built guide which teaches you how to play the game. Just run Morwm.exe, wait until the main menu appers and then select the option named Guide. If you have any questions related to the guide or anything else, please contact me. You can find my contact information below at chapter 6.

3. REQUIREMENTS
------------------------------------------

The game is not tested very widely so I cannot tell any accurate minimum requirements for processor clock rate. But according to the fact that the game is developed with CoolBasic version Beta 10.43, the game core is moderately heavy. I would recommend you to have a processor with clock rate at least of 2.0 GHz, though this assessment can be inaccurate. The game does not take any advantage of a multi core processor. It uses only a single core. (Though of course you can run it on a multi core processor!)

Whether you are running the game with a slow or with a powerful processor, the game speed is constant. The game monitors processing time and adjusts moving speed of every object to suit perfectly in all situations. The only con of this behaviour is that with slow computers all reactions to the mouse can be slow and affect negatively to the game play.

The game does not use any 3D acceleration so it is not significant wich grapchics card you have in your computer. You just need to have DirectX 7 (or newer) installed.

Morwm is tested to run on Windows Xp, Vista and 7 operating systems, but it should also run on Windows 98, ME and 2000.

There are actually no hard coded resolution limits for the game, but it has been tested with resolutions 1024x768, 1280x720 and 1600x900. The game uses automatically the same resolution as Windows and it even scales User Interface graphics to fit better for the current resolution. Actual game graphics are not scaled, so if you have a high resolution then you can see a larger area of the game terrain.

4. KNOWN BUGS
------------------------------------------

There are a few bugs or unwanted features in this game. I have no plans on fixing them. Reason: I want to have this project finished. I originally meant to develop this whole game in a couple of days. But - as usually - my hunger growed while I was eating. I added some more features just to create an application more like a game rather than a technology demo. So now I want this game out!

1. Some times player does not hit an object. The collision system that I have made for objects is not just a simple loop that goes through all possible collision pairs. That would work very precisely, but it would also consume too much processing time. So I made it more complex by implementing a collision map system. That needed to be optimized so I made it a little inaccurate and what we currently have is a quite powerful collision checking system.

2. Hitting an object will make it go to a wrong direction. I do not really know anything about physics. If the physics implemented in the game work fine for most of the time, then I have succeeded. I don't know where this bug comes from, but it think it is relatively rare.

3. Balance in getting score and growing levels is not good. Honestly that's just because I'm not interested in spending very much time on that side of the game. The same applies to the fact that the worm can be kept alive forever and the game is likely too easy to play.

5. COPYRIGHTS
------------------------------------------

This application has copyrights for four authors:

All musics distributed with the application in the Music directory are made by Noby and their license agreement is specified in DISCLAIMER.txt file located at the Music directory.

cbNetwork.dll and cbFun.dll are properties of their creators. cbNetwork.dll is made by Marcoder and cbFun.dll is made by KilledWhale. Both of the libraries have been published to CoolBasic community and (as far as I know) can be used freely (atleast when not modified) in any CoolBasic based applications.

Anything else originally included in the application package is made by me, Jarkko Linnanvirta. You may use and distribute the application when you follow the next terms:

1) You are not allowed to modify the application in any way.
2) You are not allowed to sell the application or use it in any commercial way.
3) You are not allowed to rip any parts off of the application.
4) You are not allowed to rip or distribute the game's online toplist(s).
5) You are not allowed to claim that the creator and author of the application is anyone else than me.
6) You are allowed to play the game for free.
7) You are allowed to distribute the application in any non-commercial way.
8) Breaking these rules is only permitted if you have a written permission from me.

The above terms apply to the whole game/application excluding those parts of the application that are not made by me. But those parts may have another copyrights restricting usage, distribution, modification or some other rights.

6. CONTACT AND UPDATES
------------------------------------------

I didn't put a version number for this game because I've planned that this release is unique. So no updates, no bug fixes, nothing. This is a promise. If I for some strange reason break this promise, I think it would only make you happy. Think about the other choice I had: I would make a promise that I will publish an update and fix all bugs in the game in the future. If I would break that promise, then it would make you sad. I don't want to make you sad.

But you can still give me feedback. I like to hear it so I can make things better in my next game projects.
